Lt. Gen. Asim Munir

Lieutenant-General Syed Asim Munir served Pakistan’s inner spy agency Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI) in the shortest period. Army Chief, General Qamar Bajwa appointed him as ISI head in October 2018. But it not longed more, by the arrival of Imran Khan to the helm he replaced the post with Lt. Gen. Faiz Hamid.

The days of the cricketer-turned-politician, who came to power and strengthened the ties with the military establishments ended very fast. In three years, the tables have turned against him. Mr Khan fallout in front of the military and threw away from power in April. One more time Munir has been appointed as the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), the most potent position in Pakistan.
